Numbers Radio...

...are high energy Rock n’ Roll at it’s freshest and most potent. Their fast paced, thumping rock tunes are balanced with sing-along choruses and harmonies that transform the songs into anthems. There’s a rawness and a purity balanced with a tight and solid sound that’s not unfamiliar yet hard to pin down - It’s their own.

After being unearthed by Triple J the band were given a “feature artist” profile and had their first real taste of national exposure with “Come On” being officially added to rotation. The song has also gathered momentum with community radio and a film clip is in the works for late August.

Numbers Radio could very well be the most exciting new band to spring from the Brisbane scene in years. They’ve already set the airwaves on fire with their infectious hit “Come On” lifted from their self-titled debut EP (out August 9 on Valley Trash Records). The EP was recorded with Jeff Lovejoy of Black Box fame and most of the tracks were recorded in one explosive session that captured the energy of a live performance to tape. The end result is 5 exceptional songs that can easily hold their own. While there’s a real affinity for Australian influences there’s also an international quality to the Numbers Radio sound and this can be heard throughout the EP. Plus, if you play it real loud it’s impossible to resist jumping around like a maniac!

The band consists of Dave Orr (guitars/vocals) Robbie Carlyon (bass/vocals) Mark Henman (drums) and while Numbers Radio seem to have sprung out of nowhere these guys have extensive experience playing in various Brisbane bands including Blowhard, Resin Dogs, Afro Dizzi Act and Hip Pocket. Starting out as a side project to enable the rock monster within it soon became obvious that there was something special emerging from their spontaneous and prolific songwriting – not unlike the perfect combination of people, time and place.

As a live band these guys serve up a tight and energetic performance that’s impossible to ignore. The band is hitting the studio soon to start work on a masterpiece of a debut album due for release in early 2009.

Stay tuned to the Numbers Radio frequency, this is just the beginning... OUT AUG 9th ON VALLEY TRASH RECORDS.
